Astigmatism is when the front part of your eye called the cornea and/or the lens in your eye has an irregular curve. This changes the way that light hits your retina internally. With astigmatism you will have distorted blurry vision, and have difficulty distinguishing between letters like S and B, H and M, D and O. This is a common eye condition.
High degrees of Astigmatism can be considered for LASIK surgery ONLY IF the prescription has stabilised, this is a surgical technique where the cornea’s shape is altered to refract the light rays in a more natural manner. Lower degrees of astigmatism can be aided with spectacle lenses and contact lenses.
